Pebble Rock Cellars originated with a penguin, a proposal, and a rock. – ROBERT NIDA, CO-FOUNDER Founded by Robert and Lydia Nida, Pebble Rock Cellars originated with a penguin, a proposal, and a rock. When Gentoo penguins find their mates, they present them with a pebble for their egg nest. When Robert proposed to Lydia, he decided to mimic Lydia’s favorite animal, so he hid her engagement ring in a rock and presented it to her like a pebble. Pebble Rock Cellars was established to support a growing community of novel winemakers looking for a welcoming place to produce their wines. In the future, we plan to open our facilities to promising winemakers in the Texas Hill Country. For now, we invite you to taste our current wines, made by our co-founder, Robert Nida.
