About Burklee Hill at Levelland

Burklee Hill Bistro & Tasting Room in downtown Lubbock is a family-owned restaurant and winery. Burklee Hill’s wines are locally-grown wine from the Texas High Plains, primarily from the family vineyard about 40 miles west near Levelland established in 2002. Chace and Elizabeth Hill founded Burklee Hill Vineyards in a tribute to the generations of family members that have inspired them to seek excellence in their work. The name, “Burklee,” was chosen in tribute to Chace’s great-grandfather, Burk “Burnett” Roberts and grandfathers, “Burk” Roberts and Eddie “Lee” Courtney. Chace and Elizabeth are both graduates from Texas Tech University. Chace earned a degree in Horticulture in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences before Texas Tech developed its now available Viticulture degree. Chace served in an advisory role to the Department recently. Elizabeth is a practicing attorney in winery and vineyard law, as well as other areas. Elizabeth and Chace look forward to continuing the growth and expansion of the Texas High Plains wine and vineyard industry to share premium and award-wining wine with all who visit.
